Instagram’s CEO and co-founder Kevin Systrom met with the Holy Father at the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace on Friday to discuss the power of images.

The American entrepreneur who was listed in the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2013 posted a picture of his encounter with the Pope on his Instagram page saying:

“Today I had the honor of meeting Pope Francis. We spoke about the power of images to unite people across different cultures and languages. It was by far one of the most memorable experiences of my life!”

At a private audience with the Pope, Kevin brought him a curated book of 10 Instagram images. It included images from the Nepalese earthquake and the emigration of migrants/refugees from the Middle East into Europe, they also both spoke about the power of images in bridging the gap between cultural sensitivity and generational barriers.
