Do the prophecies of St. Malachy suggest we are living in the end times?

Full Question

Someone in my parish told me about the prophesies of St. Malachy, which he claims, prove that we are nearing the end of times. What are these prophesies?

St. Malachy was an Irish bishop who lived in the 12th century. By far the more famous of his prophecies concerns the sequence of popes.

The prophecy consist of 112 short Latin descriptions of future popes; the prophecies were discovered in 1590 and attributed to Malachy. Each description indicates one identifying trait for each future pope, beginning with Celestine II, who was elected in 1130. In some instances, the descriptions hit home in an uncanny way; they have led to centuries of speculation that the prophecy might be a real one.

For instance, the description of the future John XXII (1316-1334) is “de sutore osseo“–“from the bony shoemaker.” This pope was the son of a shoemaker, and his family name was “Ossa,” which means bone. In another example, “lilium et rosa” was the phrase used to describe the pope who would be Urban VIII (1623-1644), whose family coat-of-arms was covered with “lilies and roses.”

Malachy’s prophecy has been cast into doubt by the fact that the descriptions become vague from the 16th century on–about the time the prophecy was “discovered” in the Roman Archives. But there have been a few good matches in modern times. The phrase “pastor et nauta,” meaning “shepherd and sailor,” was attributed to John XXIII. This pope hailed from Venice, historically a city of sailors, and on the day he took office he indicated the goal of his pontificate was to be “a good shepherd.”

There have been many more misses, though. Describing the popes to follow John XXIII are the phrases “flower of flowers” (Paul VI), “from a half-moon” (John Paul I), and “from the toil of the sun” (John Paul II), none of which is an obvious connection. After our current pope there are only two left in Malachy’s prophecy, “the glory of the olive” and “Peter the Roman.” The latter will supposedly lead the Church through many tribulations, concluding with the last judgment.

Is “Malachy’s” prophecy legitimate? Probably not. The consensus among modern scholars is that it is a 16th-century forgery created for partisan political reasons.

& 666, their so-called “HOLY YEAR OF MERCY”:
The TWO HORNS {False Popes} of the PAPAL LAMB, the “OTTOMAN POPES":

Rev. 13:11: And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.
This Verse of the Book Of Revelation of the Holy Bible most probably refers to the TWO POPES, {“2 horns”= 2 Popes, Pope Francis I and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI; and “he spoke as a Dragon”= Pope Francis I}, viz.: the LAMB Of GOD who represents Our Beloved and Blessed Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST {the Sacrificial Lamb}, on Earth, the POPE/S represent the LAMB on Earth, {“coming out of the Earth” – Human Being/s}, and therefore are the 2 FALSE POPES !!!
The actions of Pope Francis I may be explained away as “Populist”, but in as much as he alters or contravenes and sidesteps Religious Doctrine and Dogma held in esteem for more than 2000 Years, and declares the MUSLIM “Allah" to be the same as YAHWEH the Judeo-Christian “God The Father" who ALL Roman Catholics can or must worship by becoming Muslims, then this makes him come increasingly under the World Spotlight, and the Re-Emergence of the former Pope: Now “Pope Emeritus” Benedict XVI supporting his “New Doctrine & Dogma" is certainly most unusual and HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND, TWO POPES AT THE SAME TIME, TWO POPES BOTH ACTING TOGETHER AS ONE POPE, the Singular Entity of Rev. Chapter 13, Verses 13.11 to 13.18 !!!
    The “OTTOMAN POPES" !!!
The TWO POPES could also be the Opposition to the TWO WITNESSES OF THE APOCALYPSE {mentioned in Rev. Chapter 11}, who are described as “Two Candlesticks and Olive Trees before the Lord of the Earth”.
“Two Candlesticks” meaning Two Churches which are meant to replace all the other Churches during the End-Time, and, as the Two Witnesses will be imbued with the Holy Spirit, these Two Churches will be directly under the Holy Spirit as described more fully in Chapter 11 of the Book Of Revelation of the Holy Bible, and all Christian Faithful and all Clergy of ALL Denominations are to be guided by these TWO WITNESS-PROPHETS OF THE APOCALYPSE as soon as the “Great Sign in the Heavens" of Rev. 12.1 appears in the Sky, and they make a Joint Declaration to that effect, and the said Christian Faithful should not be led astray by the 2 False Popes.

The prophecy is true. The Pope St.John John Paul II is “toil of the sun” . He toiled in mines during his younger years and world war period. Our Pope Francis is the I Angel described in The Book of Revelation. There are two more Popes After him. Of course 2 more Angels. Then last judgement.
