European bishops: pray for the care of creation

The Council of Catholic Bishops’ Conferences of Europe (CCEE) has issued a message encouraging the continent’s bishops to take part in the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on September 1.

Describing the care of creation as a “central theme” in ecumenical dialogue with the Orthodox, the message called upon Catholics to “welcome this time of prayer as an opportunity to respond to the responsibility to which the Lord calls together all people, to become true stewards of what He has entrusted to them.”
