‘Our Lady has already crushed his head’: Our Lady of Fatima visionary predicted marriage and family ‘final battle’

Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the three children who witnessed the Marian apparitions at Fatima, died in 2005. But before her death, she predicted that the final battle between Christ and Satan would be over marriage and the family.

Mexico City, Mexico (CNA/EWTN News) – So says Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, who reports that the visionary sent him a letter with this prediction when he was Archbishop of Bologna, Italy.
msisdn: 2348051304472

This reported statement by Sister Lucia, expressed during the pontificate of Saint John Paul II, was recently revisited by the Desde la Fe (From the Faith) weekly of the Archdiocese of Mexico, in the midst of the debate generated by President Enrqiue Pena Nieto, who announced his intention to promote gay marriage in this country.
The Mexican weekly recalled the statements that Cardinal Caffarra made to the Italian press in 2008, three years after the death of Sister Lucia.

On February 16, 2008, the Italian cardinal had celebrated a Mass at the tomb of Padre Pio, after which he gave an interview with Tele Radio Padre Pio. He was asked about the prophecy of Sister Lucia dos Santos that speaks about “the final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan.”

Cardinal Caffarra explained that Saint John Paul II had commissioned him to plan and establish the Pontifical Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. At the beginning of this work, the cardinal wrote a letter to Sister Lucia of Fatima through her bishop, since he could not do it directly.

“Inexplicably, since I did not expect a reply, seeing as I had only asked for her prayers, I received a long letter with her signature, which is now in the archives of the Institute,” the Italian cardinal said.

“In that letter we find written: ‘The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family.’ Don’t be afraid, she added, because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. Then she concluded: ‘nevertheless, Our Lady has already crushed his head’.”

Cardinal Caffarra added that “speaking again with John Paul II, you could feel that the family was the core, since it has to do with the supporting pillar of creation, the truth of the relationship between man and woman, between the generations. If the foundational pillar is damaged, the entire building collapses and we’re seeing this now, because we are right at this point and we know it.”

“And I am moved when I read the best biographies of Padre Pio,” the cardinal concluded, “about how this man was so attentive to the sanctity of marriage and the holiness of the spouses, even with justifiable rigor at times.”

    “Then she concluded: ‘nevertheless, Our Lady has already crushed his head’.”” Who’s head? Satan’s? So Mary is a god now? She has supernatural powers equal to those of Yahweh? She seems to equate herself with the “Lord” seeing as it is Mary who will crush Satan’s head. Is she the third member of the trinity, or are there now four members? The final battle is predetermined (what kind of battle is that?) and Mary is going to fight the battle and win it by herself? Where is that in the bible? Perhaps this is just poorly written….
    Hmm, and a woman who has a child out of wedlock is going to tell us all about marriage and the family? A woman whose son scorns her in several instances in the bible is an expert on family? A woman who’s son instructs followers to abandon their families and any thought of tomorrow and follow him is an expert on families?
    I don’t find this very convincing.

      Only one Holy Trinity, many members in the Body of Christ. Many healings and miracles preformed by the Holy Trinity through the Body of Christ. Article about attack on the family, not Mary. Real question is how do you interpret the account about Sodom and Gamorrah? Only one God, his opinion is the only opinion that matters, does this matter to you? Do you want to muddy the water and redirect the topic? I’m very interested on how you feel about the article, are you in favor of redefining the definition of marriage? If so how do you think God will feel about it?

      Then the Lord God said to the snake:

      Because you have done this,
      cursed are you
      among all the animals, tame or wild;
      On your belly you shall crawl,
      and dust you shall eat
      all the days of your life.
      I will put enmity between you and the woman,
      and between your offspring and hers;
      They will strike at your head,
      while you strike at their heel. Genesis 3:14-15

      So it is Biblical as stated by God to Satan in the Garden.

    You need to read sacred scripture within context. Understand the beauty of The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

    May you understand our lady as the new Ark of the covenant.. The Mother of God. Spouse if The Hiky Spirit.. Read The catechism. Then, be free to make a comment.. Understand the proper teaching and not your interpretation without understanding the beauty of truth! Mary our Mother of God had only one child, the son of God. We are her children now… Please understand the proper interpretation of Sacred Scripture.

    We are the Bride( the church) of Christ(the Groom). So much to learn! I truly beg you to find out the eternal unchanging Truth…

      Patrick has some good points but as far as a woman out of wedlock he should remember this is a special woman not your average person.

    You see, this is the problem when the bible is taken and interpreted willy-nilly, without the authority of the Catholic Church, where the bible actually came from, not the 40 thousand plus Protestant denominations. The bible we have is a translation, so certain verses, which may come off as harsh or difficult to take, is actually the normal way Jewish folk expressed themselves. You can see that in the verses where Our Lord tells us to “pluck out your eye”, or “cut off your foot” meaning we should do all we can to stop ourselves from sinning, not to actually do those things. it is important to read the bible in the context in which it was written, or you risk misinterpreting it.
    Also, do you value your mother? Or do you scorn and feel she is of little worth, only good to give you birth, feed you, then her purpose is null? I am shocked that for folks who wouldn’t treat their mothers with dishonor, somehow think that Christ, more compassionate and loving, and merciful than anyone who has ever lived, can possibly treat his loving mother with anything other than the utmost honor, love, and compassion. And the sublime job of Mother of God, can only go to one who is humble enough to handle it and certainly not equal herself to the Blessed Trinity. If you think for a second you are somehow honoring Christ by dishonoring his mother, you are very wrong. Whatever power Our Lady has to crush Satan’s head she humbly receives from the Blessed Trinity, more than happy to give that power to her who humbly accepted such a sublime and extremely difficult task of being the Mother of God. I will pray for my christian brothers and sisters, that as we once were united under the same Christ, we once again will put aside our differences and all share in the blessed fullness of faith.

    Please remember, where we all hope and pray to be one day……..there is no religion. Your only goal here on this Earth, is to do God’s will. Do you really think that when we leave here and go to our eternity, that our heavenly family…and yes they are all our family….will separate us based on what denomination of Christianity we believe in (or were raised to believe in) here?
    May God bless us ALL….His children
    Peace to you all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

    Mary crushing Satin head was done when she accepted Gods will to give birth to Jesus Christ who in turn defeated death and brought life.

    Its obvious Patrick understands this with a textbook mentality and not the spiritual significance of the role of Mary in the redemption work of Jesus Christ.Just like Philip in the Bible someone needs to guide him through.

    Patrick is just not properly educated on our The Holy Virgin Mary. He can think and say what he wants, but us true Catholics who are devoted in our faith, believe and pray to her for her intercessionto Jesus. I love our Blessed Mother with all my heart and soul and it hurts me when ppl speak of Her with such disrespect but I have think to myself the reason for his disgusting comments is that he was not properly educated on Our beautiful Blessed Mother.
