Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI accepts Pope Francis’ invitation to attend the opening of Year of Mercy Jubilee

Pope Francis sent an invitation to Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI, inviting him to come and be with him in the opening of the jubilee of Year of Mercy that will take place on 8 December at the Atrium of the Basilica.

8th of December that marks the opening of the year of mercy will also be the the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. And 20th November, 2016 when it will end will be the Solemnity of Christ the King.

Pope-emeritus have accepted Pope Francis’ invitation and will be present on the 8th of December for the opening of the year of mercy.
