Pope Francis issued the Book of Gospels for the Jubilee of the year of mercy

Pope Francis yesterday, on 03rd December received the Book of Gospels that will be used for the liturgies of the upcoming Jubilee of the Year of Mercy.

The book – which contains the Gospel readings for the Sundays and Feast Days during the Year of Mercy – is illustrated by Jesuit artist Marko Rupnik.

The Book was presented to Pope Francis by the President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelisation, Archbishop Rino Fisichella.

Pope Francis’ opening of the Holy Door in St. Peter’s Basilica on Sunday 8th of December 2015 will mark commencement the Jubilee Year of Mercy, that day will also is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
