That Moment when Muslims gather to Honor the Virgin Mary in Lyon

During the just concluded celebration of the ‘Solemnity of the Annunciation’ of the Blessed Virgin Mary over 500 Muslims were found in the Maronite Catholic parish in Lyon, France praying in honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The celebration of the ‘Solemnity of the Annunciation’ of the Blessed Virgin Mary has for sometimes now been a joint holiday for both Christians and Muslims in Lebanon, the homeland of the Maronite Catholic Church.

The director of the Great Mosque of Lyon, Kamel Kabtane and Cardinal Philippe Barbarin were both present at the recent celebration that stunned a lot of people in the Maronite Catholic parish in Lyon, France

During the celebration, the Lord’s Prayer was recited by both the Christians and Muslims.

“We urgently need to remember that we share a common spiritual patrimony," said Kabtane, according to La Croix.
