Does God love everyone or just Christians?

Answer: There is a sense in which God loves everyone in the whole world (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2; Romans 5:8). This love in not conditional—it is based only on the fact that God is a God of love (1 John 4:8, 16). God’s love for all of mankind results in the fact that God shows His mercy by not immediately punishing people for their sins (Romans 3:23; 6:23). God’s love for the world is manifested in the fact that He gives people the opportunity to repent (2 Peter 3:9). However, God’s love for the world does not mean He will ignore sin. God is also a God of justice (2 Thessalonians 1:6). Sin cannot go unpunished forever (Romans 3:25-26).

The most loving act of eternity is described in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Anyone who ignores God’s love, who rejects Christ as Savior, who denies the Savior who bought him (2 Peter 2:1) will be subject to God’s wrath for eternity (Romans 1:18), not His love (Romans 6:23). God loves everyone unconditionally in that He shows mercy to everyone by not destroying them immediately because of sin. At the same time, God only has “covenant love" for those who place their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation (John 3:36). Only those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will experience God’s love for eternity.

Does God love everyone? Yes. Does God love Christians more than He loves non-Christians? No. Does God love Christians to a different extent than He loves non-Christians? Yes. God loves everyone equally in that He is merciful to all. God has a unique relationship with Christians in that only Christians have His eternal grace and mercy and the promise of His forever love in heaven. The unconditional love God has for everyone should bring us to faith in Him, receiving in thankfulness the great conditional love He grants all those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

We are all made in God’s image and likeness. If you are a parent just as God is our parent, and your children adopt different religions, other than Christianity, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. and perhaps start treating you like dirt or disrespect, would you stop loving them? I doubt it, in fact you would probably think of them more, pray for them more and never stop loving them. So it is with God, our heavenly Father. We are all His children and I have no doubt, unconditionally loved by Him.

When God created the world He saw it was good and it pleased His heart to see His own creation. Every New Creation brought gladness to His heart. But there came a time in When God was sore at heart and repented,’The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.Genesis 6:5-8 Yes humans broke God’s heart they were His Supreme creation, they were created in His own image……but there was only one man, ‘Noah’ who found favor in God’s eyes. God is merciful, He Sent Jesus later to His continuing love for mankind. He even told Jonah ‘How can i destroy these people whom I have created (made)?’ He said to Jeremiah I am not happy with the death of a sinner. In John 3.16 Jesus declared God’s love to the mankind. ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ So we see that God loves all mankind. He waits patiently for His children to seek Him and find Him and follow Him……He will wait till the judgement day after that those who refused Him will be punished.

Catholicism is clearly Heresy!! They worship the Pope, practice witchcraft (Rosary) and clearly distort the word of God!! It’s sad to see

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Yes, but because He is a Holy God, He has to deal with sin. Sin has no place in God’s presence.
