Prayer for Thursdays – In Honor of the Holy Eucharist
Thursday is the day the Church recalls the institution of the Holy Eucharist — the sacrament of Christ’s abiding presence among us. On this day, we remember the Last Supper, where Our Lord, on the night before He suffered, gave Himself completely to us in the form of bread and wine. In the Eucharist, Heaven touches earth; God dwells with His people and nourishes our souls with His very Body and Blood.
It is a mystery of love so profound that every Communion is both a renewal of Calvary and a foretaste of eternity. As we honor this sacred gift today, let us approach the Lord with gratitude and reverence, asking that His presence in the Eucharist may transform our hearts, unite us in charity, and strengthen us for the journey of faith.
Now, with hearts lifted to the Lord, let us pray:
Prayer:
O God, who have accomplished the work of human redemption through the Paschal Mystery of your Only Begotten Son, graciously grant that we, who confidently proclaim, under sacramental signs, the Death and Resurrection of Christ, may experience continued increase of your saving grace.
May sharing at the heavenly table sanctify us, Lord, we pray, so that through the Body and Blood of Christ the whole family of believers may be bound together.
