Britain set to have second female ambassador to the Holy See

According to a report in the Tablet, Britain is set to have a new ambassador to the Holy See – Sally Axworthy. Sally succeeds the last Holy See ambassador Nigel Baker who will return to London.  Ms Sally Axworthy (née Hinds), Heads the North Africa Dept (job-share) at Foreign and Commonwealth Office, a position she has held from May 2013 – Present (2 years 9 months). She had her education at Magdalen College, Oxford.
She lives in Morwenstow, Cornwall, married to Michael Axworthy and they have a son and three daughters.
She would be the second woman to hold the position. Kathryn Colvin was the first woman to hold that position of Britain’s ambassador to the Holy See from 2002-2005.
The appointment is yet to be officially announced.
