Full Question

Can I attend the baptism service of my Lutheran friend?

Answer

Yes:

According to the local situation and as occasion may arise, Catholics may, in common celebration with other Christians, commemorate the baptism which unites them, by renewing the engagement to undertake a full Christian life, which they have assumed in the promises of their baptism, and by pledging to cooperate with the grace of the Holy Spirit in striving to heal the divisions which exist among Christians. • Jose Fuliga says:

Lutherans accept the baptism of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Church accepts the baptism of the Lutheran Church as a valid baptism. I was baptized in the Catholic Church and was never baptized again in the Lutheran Church. In fact, there is a written mutual agreement on baptism between the Lutheran Church in the Philippines and the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines.
