Pope Francis rekindles a Historical bond between the Jews and the Catholics

Pope Francis has responded to the recent attacks on the Israelites by Jews and any other against the Jews as well. The Pope made it clear that either way, an attack from both parties against themselves is an act of antisemitism. He said this at a private meeting with World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder and his delegates, a meeting called “Nostra Aetate”. This year’s”Nostra Aetate” marked the 50th anniversary of the gathering; a decisive change in direction in relations between the Catholic Church and Judaism, and it shows itself as a useful compass toward reconciliation between Christians and Jews, valid both for the present and for the future.”
“To attack Jews is antisemitism, but an outright attack on the State of Israel is also antisemitism. There may be political disagreements between governments on political issues, but the State of Israel has every right to exist in safety and prosperity.” Pope Francis said
The World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder and his delegates commended the Pope greatly for his message, attesting to the fact that his inspiring message and efforts overtime have strengthened the bond between the Catholics and the Jews.
“Enemies and strangers have become friends and brothers. The Council, with the declaration Nostra Aetate, paved the way. It said yes to the rediscovery of the Jewish roots of Christianity, and no to any form of antisemitism and condemnation of any insult, discrimination and persecution derived from that” S. Lauder said.

  • THE SAME THING HAS TO BE DONE BY THE CHRISTIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH TOO ! IT HAS TO BE said yes to the rediscovery of the Jewish roots of Christianity, and no to any form of antisemitism and condemnation of any insult, discrimination and persecution derived from that” . Any form of anti-semitic preach in the orthodox churches is to be banned and also any anti-semitic attitudes coming from the representatives of the orthodox church or of the parishioners.
