In the Philippines, the soon-to-be tallest statue of the Virgin Mary in the world is about to be ready

Almost 100 meters (315 feet) high, the statue is expected to be concluded in 2021, marking the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines
The world’s tallest statue of the Virgin Mary is rising at Montemaria on the southernmost tip of Batangas Bay in Batangas City.
The 322-ft. (98.15 meters) statue of Mary, the Mother of All Asia Tower of Peace, is the centerpiece of the Montemaria pilgrimage center that has drawn devotees and tourists alike.
Developers of the statue say it is about the same height as the Peter the Great statue in Russia which is the eighth tallest statue in the world, taller than other famous statues in the world like the Statue of Liberty in New York (93 meters) and the Great Buddha in Thailand (92 meters).
The Philippines’ statue of Virgin Mary is set to overtake the current world’s tallest, the Monument to Our Lady of Peace in Venezuela, completed in 2016. The Guinness World Record for the largest statue of Mary is the Monument of the Holy Mother of God which stands at 14 meters high with a base of 17 meters, established in September 2003 in Haskovo, Bulgaria.
The 322-ft. statue at Montemaria has attracted both pilgrims and tourists. Credits to Montemaria. The Mother of All Asia Tower of Peace is envisioned by its creators as the icon and pilgrimage destination not only of the entire Philippines but eventually of all Asia and the World, much like how the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Statue of Liberty in New York, USA are drawing visitors.
The Virgin Mary statue is dedicated to the Unity and Peace of the peoples and countries of this part of the world. Development and construction of the Mother of All Asia Tower of Peace started in 2014 and is expected to be fully finished by 2021, in time for the 500-year anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines.
The province of Batangas in the Southern Luzon hosts some of the country’s heritage churches and is home to the Catholic Church’s Filipino blesseds and servants of God.

The drive from Batangas City proper was quite scenic. Reminded me of the zig-zad road up to Baguio. Visited the place and saw the partially constructed base meant to be the tallest Statue of The Virgin Mary by French engineers accordingly. We arrived there two weeks after the inauguration of a chapel, a replica of the Church of the Infant Jesus of Prague supposedly donated by a wealthy Filipino Family in Toronto, Canada. A tent was erected as temporary church next to a small building selling religious articles adjacent to a public restrooms. There was a huge rock by the altar. At the time we were there, the construction project was stopped. On that day we visited, we waited for the next Healing Mass officiated or celebrated by the healing priest Fr. Fernando Suarez. It was a Saturday. All what we saw during our visit was started by the late Fr. Fernando Suarez. But things got complicated accordingly. During the largest healing Mass named “Heal LA” in Los Angeles California which I was a volunteer, I was privileged to have viewed the blue print of the Statue. Each of the bead of Rosary to glow at night around the Statue. Yes, commercial buildings to include 5 star hotels and shopping areas be constructed as part of a grand pilgrimage Mecca. Will manage to attend the opening ceremonies in 2021 or whenever it will be officially opened. Requesting, please let me know when the opening ceremonies will be. Tank You so much. God Bess.
Hope that this statue should be built on the place where the first mass held that is in Limasawa island, Southern Leyte
Incredible, a truly divine gift from Heaven. Awesome piece of a genius sculpltor working through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Monumental remembrance of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. No better landmark can best express the love and joy of the Filipino people who are deeply dedicated and profoundly in love with the Mother of God. God bless us all. Amen. Sm Sydney Mon 9 March 2020
I love it. I just don’t like the idea that the monument has commercial and residential spaces. It should be sacred, catholics as we are..
I hope I cn pay a visit on the Holy Week.
Wow! Grandiose!
To God be the Glory…
It is fit for our Heavenly Queen and Mother the Queen of Heaven and Earth, the undefeated Queen of the Universe, THE MOTHER OF GOD the Son JESUS CHRIST and the Handmaid of Our Girls the Father Almighty and beloved spouse of the Holy Spirit.Mama Mary…
Wow! Can’t wait to visit the shrine. But…….I don’t know about the crown as a viewing deck. It feels like you’re trampling on the Virgin Mary’s head!
May Mother Mary guard and protect her children around the globe
