Jubilee 'Holy Door' to be opened at hostel from Rome's homeless

During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, a “Holy Door” will be opened at the Caritas Hostel, which provides rooms for 180 of Rome’s homeless.
Cardinal Agostino Vallini, the vicar of the Rome diocese, has announced that Pope Francis will formally open the Holy Door at the Caritas Hostel on December 18—10 days after the opening of the Jubilee Year. Another Holy Door will be added at the sanctuary of Our Lady of Divine Love, on the Via Ardeatina: a sanctuary beloved by St. John Paul II.
During a Jubilee Year, a special indulgence is offered to pilgrims who pass through the Holy Doors. Traditionally the Holy Doors have been those of Rome’s major basilicas: St. Peter’s, St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, and St. Paul’s Outside the Walls.
