Scott P. Richert is the author of numerous articles on Catholic moral, social, political, and historical issues. Since 2007, he has been the Guide to Catholicism for About.com.
In his monthly column for Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture (of which he is the executive editor), and in articles published elsewhere (especially the national Catholic weekly newspaperThe Wanderer), Scott frequently writes on Catholic themes.
Today, Scott and his wife Amy belong to St. Mary Oratory, a traditional Latin Mass parish in Rockford, Illinois. They homeschool their eight children using a traditional Catholic curriculum, and Scott has written homeschooling courses for Seton Home Study School, a Catholic homeschooling organization in Front Royal, Virginia.
Scott holds a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University, where he took a number of religious-studies courses. In 1992, he received his M.A. in Political Theory from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where, in addition to his general political-theory studies, he pursued an interest in the political and social thought of the early Church Fathers.
