Two men who were identified as Israeli have been arrested by the Italian security for flying two drones above St. Peter’s Square on sunday morning. The Vatican city have declared a no-flight zone before the start of the Catholic jubilee year of mercy, in order to check any airstrike attack as threatened by jihadist groups lately after the paris attack this year.
The drones which contained very high resolution cameras were sighted by the Vatican police on patrol on the 27th December. Few minutes later a trace was landed on two men sitting on a bridge near St Peter’s, one of them was holding the remote controller of the drones.
These men have been arrested for further investigation and would probably face charges for violating the flight ban over the Vatican city.
