When someone asks you to pray for them, why not pray with “Padre Pio Power”? When I heard that the prayer below (written by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque) was the one Padre Pio would use when people asked him to pray for them, I needed no further encouragement for choosing this prayer in the same way. Padre Pio has tens of thousands of miracles associated with him, including the healing of a very good friend of Pope John Paul II.

When you use this prayer, keep a journal to record these special intentions. Keep in mind this type of petition is for specific needs such as gainful employment, healing from an illness, etc. After some time has passed, refer back to this journal to record the amazing way God answers these prayers. Due to our limited view and God’s eternal view, it is important to always trust that He knows far better what is really needed in these situations. Be open to seeing how sometimes He answers our specific prayers in a way that does not always match exactly with what we asked. When looking back on these petitions, see how His way is better.

Padre Pio’s Sacred Heart Novena Prayer

O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.” Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in My name, He will give it to you.” Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

O my Jesus, You have said: “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but My words will not pass away.” Encouraged by Your infallible words I now ask for the grace of (here name your request). Our Father … Hail Mary … Glory Be … Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your tender Mother and ours.

Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: “St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.”

Okay, if this is valid, please have scientific experts design for conduct and appropriate double-blinded, placebo-controlled study and let’s see if it can be verified. Oh, BTW, Padre Pio was a fraud. http://www.csicop.org/si/show/padre_pio_wonderworker_or_charlatan

You are avoiding the issue. Of course, placebo-controlled studies can be done. Virtually every medical treatment before it is accepted by experts working in the fields concerned about such DEMAND such. Miracles are claims that an agent (God) can intervene in the biology and chemistry of a sick person in ways that science cannot account for. In virtually every claim of a miracle ever made in the history of mankind, there have been elements of the claim that prevent it from being accepted by unbiased scientists who are experts in the area of the claim.

The author of your article never says Pio was a fraud or a deceiver.

He didn’t have to, the evidence for such is clear. Do YOU think he did all of the miraculous stuff that has been said and written about him. Do you not see his deceit? I do.

That’s why they are miracles Tom. However we receive these so called miracles cannot be proven by Scientists.they are from god..people take it lightly that when something that happens good is called luck..not.. everything is from God that is good..and blessings are the result of faith and the saints are a pathway to intercede for us..they are examples of very hard belief and commitment to our creator.. and help us gain love and faith to our God. God bless you…in your journey to finding the truth..

Scientific research and miracle are two different things .The things of the spirit can’t be proven, they can only happen and i am sure you know about Obiah ,Witchcraft and Voodoo, in every culture these same things are called by a different name and i also believe that you have the knowledge that these things work , so why can’t you believe that a simple prayer to God can work as well . The knowledge and existence of the spirit would is by far more real than man’s little scientific findings

How about a little boy that has never been told about Padre Pio saw him as this little boy was being wheeled into an operating room! After the operation he told his mom about a man that he saw in the hallway, after he described him to his mom, his mom found a picture of Padre Pio and showed it to the little boy. The little boy excitedly said “that is him, that is the man I saw!” OH by the way, no one else saw him in the hallway just this little boy. I know this little boy so this was not just something I read. The fact that you are alive is a miracle!!! If you don’t believe just go on, you don’t have to voice your non-belief here. Some of us do believe because we have seen miracles everyday.

Science can never explain how a miracle happens, hence the name ‘miracle’ but the recipients of these miracles know full well it is Divine intercession that has cured them. For non-believers, may you never need a miracle in your lives, but we will pray for you to be enlightened. God bless.

    • Tom Rafferty says:

Personal experience is not evidence. The mind can easily be deceived, and we all have biases. The only way to evaluate reality is to objectively observe phenomenon within scientific experimentation. You folks have the choice: remain in your delusional indoctrination or look at reality through the best method we have, science.

      • Mary says:

Tom, SMH at you of little faith. Miracles happen everyday. It is a miracle that each of us wake up everyday. Sometimes the doctors are the helping hands of the miracles. Sometimes doctors can’t even explain why a patient is still alive or was cured other than to say it was/is a miracle, it is/was Divine intervention. In those times it is not our job to ask how or why but just to thank God or the Saint that intervened on our behalf.

        • Tom Rafferty says:

Faith is not a virtue, it is a sign of credulity, gullibility and lazy thinking. How do you determine an event IS a “miracle?” Only by scientific experiment can one separate out human biases and natural chance occurrences from a “miracle.” It’s amazing how hidden God is when such experiments are conducted. That should make an open-minded person question the idea of “miracles.” Go your own way, however, please stop indoctrinating children into such childish dogma. I have a challenge to all of you who accept Christianity: only teach your faith to adults and see how the next generation accept it.

Debate on existence of God: Professor vs Student named ‘Einstein’
            April 16, 2011 at 3:07am
            A VERY INTERESTING CONVERSATION
An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has with
GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .
Professor : You are a Christian, aren’t you, son ?
            Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ?
            Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD Good ?
            Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL – POWERFUL ?
            Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him.
Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn’t. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?
            (Student was silent )
Professor : You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good?
            Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
            Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
            Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
            Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn’t it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
            Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?
            (Student did not answer)
Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don’t they?
            Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who Created them ?
            (Student had no answer)
Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD?
            Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD?
            Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD?
Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
            Student : No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM?
            Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol,
Science says your GOD doesn’t exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.
(Here, the student begins to shoot back the professor.)
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
            Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
            Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn’t.
(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )
Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat,
a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don’t have anything called Cold. We can hit 458
Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is
no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We
            cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.
(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )
Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn’t Darkness?
Student : You’re wrong again, sir.
Darkness is the Absence of Something
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . .
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn’t it?
            In reality, Darkness isn’t.
If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn’t you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality.
You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD.
You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can’t even explain a Thought.
It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood
            either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot
exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a
            Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )
Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor, Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?
(The Class was in Uproar )
Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor’s Brain?
(The Class broke out into Laughter )
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt
it? . . . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that You have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir?
(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)
Professor : I guess you’ll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly ! The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.
NB: I believe you have enjoyed the Conversation . . . and if so . . . You’ll probably want your Friends / Colleagues to enjoy the same . . . won’t you? Forward them to Increase their Knowledge . . . or FAITH. That student was Albert Einstein.

In November of 1998 I was to have emergency surgery for a huge, cancerous cervical tumour on a Tuesday morning at 9:00 am at City Hospital in Saskatoon SK. On the Friday before I met the surgeon, Dr. Barry Gilliland, for the first time. He took an xray that day of my tumour. I was asked to fast for the next four days and arrive at the hosp., by 7:00 am on the Tuesday to prep for surgery, Another xray was taken at that time as the doctor needed to know how much it had grown, moved, etc., over the previous four days. When I was still in my room, starving, at 11:30 am I finally ran the bell. A nurse arrived and when I said, “I was suppose to have surgery at 9:00 am. What’s going on?” She appeared very agitated and responded, “Oh, didn’t anyone tell you?” Then, “I’ll get the doctor.” He arrived shortly, very agitated and said, “Come with me!” I responded, “Like this?” I had only a flimsy hospital gown on. He searched around hurriedly in the cupboards and found me a housecoat and slippers. I then was led to a large room off the OR where he took me into a small cubicle with xrays up on screens. He said, “See this?” I shook my head, “No,” He then said, “This is the xray of your tumour on Friday. This is the one we took this morning.” Again he could see I was purplexed. He emphatically stated, “There’s nothing there! There’s nothing to operate on!” He looked totally freaked out as did the numerous nurses zoning in to have a kind of guarded, almost as if they’d seen a ghost, incredulous look at me. Gilliland just kept staring at me with “WHY?” in his eyes and I somehow knew an atheist understood he had come close to the Kingdom of God on earth (not me, but God’s work). I had prayed with my whole heart, just once, over the weekend, but from my very soul for a miracle as I had four kids who needed me very badly. Although there was no tumour to operate on, and to make the doctor feel better I asked if he would do the D&C (should not have) that had also been planned and he said yes. Just as I was going under a nurse named Kali, with a positively hateful gleam in her eye, grabbed my left wrist and started pulling on it. When I came to in Recovery I saw my wrist. The head nurse came over and asked me about the hugely purple mess of it. She was terribly upset when I told her about Kali and ordered me to report the incident to the Hosp., asap I tried, making a special 25 mile trip in to see the Administrator two weeks later. The bruising and swelling were still very visible but nothing was broken. They refused to acknowledge anything, suggesting I get psychiatric help. We could not afford a lawyer and in our province the lawyers would likely have only taken our money and let the hosp., win, anyway. In one day I got to experience God’s miracle and a little demon’s anger at the truth of it. Naysayers, go away. I’ve had many miracles. The truth is still the truth. Now doctors call these “Spontaneous healing” that they can’t explain but we all know, like it or not. God reigns!
