Pope Francis Sends Condolence message to Nnewi Gas Plant explosion victims

An industrial gas tank exploded on 26th December, in a town called Nnewi in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria, killing lots of people who lined up to fill their gas cylinders for the holiday.
The sad incident have reached the Vatican city and Pope Francis was deeply troubled and disheartened by that. Pope Francis sent a condolence message through Cardinal Pietro Parolin on 27th December. Below is an English translation of the Message:

The Holy Father was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic explosion at a gas plant in Nnewi, in which so many people died or were seriously injured. He send heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the deceased and injured, to the authorities and to the entire Nation. His Holiness, commending the souls of the departed to the tender mercy of God, invokes the abundant divine gifts of consolation and strength upon those who mourn and upon all who have been affected by this tragedy.
