American security officials are now aware of any immediate threats to attack Pope Francis during his visit to the US, the head of the Secret Service said in an interview with USA Today.
“There is nothing that we’re overly concerned about,” said Joseph Clancy. He acknowledged, however, that an enormous security operation is involved in protecting the Pontiff.
Clancy’s reassuring message comes shortly after the revelation that the FBI had arrested a Philadelphia teenager for allegedly seeking to organize an assault on boy’s plans were barely formed, and no real threat had materialized.
