The Chaldean Patriarchate appeals for the Protection of Ancient and Historic Landmarks

Following the destruction of the St. Elijah’s Monastery in Mosul, the Patriarchate of the Chaldean Catholic Church was saddened and distressed. The Patriarch have great respect and value for the historic backgrounds of Mosul which is believed to be one of the key agent to strengthening faith amidst her community.

“As we condemn this destructive work that erases Mosul  memory, we are asking the allied forces to preserve and protect such [a] precious heritage and other similar    Christian and Islamic locations,” the patriarchate said on a January 22nd.
