Fr. Miguel Tomaszek and Fr. Zbigniew Strzalkowski both from Poland, and Fr. Alessandro Dordi, from Italy who were slain in Peru by Shining Path rebels in 1991 were beatified on Saturday 5th of December 2015.
The three priest are said to be the first Catholic martyrs in Peru to be beatified. The beatification took place in the northern city of Chimbote.
