The death of a loved one generally can be a shocking experience. Sometimes, time neither erases nor heals the pain from this experience. We turn to God to heal us and also trust that they are in heaven with God. ‘A prayer for a deceased Father or Mother’ is a good place to start.
Prayer for a Deceased Father or Mother
O God, Who has commanded us to honor our father and mother,
have compassion in Thy mercy, on the souls of my father and mother;
forgive them their sins, and grant that I may see them in the joy of eternal brightness.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
