Hymn

A city radiant as a bride

And bright with gold and gem,

A crystal river clear and wide,

The new Jerusalem;

A city wrought with wealth untold,

Her jeweled walls aflame

With green and amethyst and gold

And colors none can name.

A city ever new and fair,

The Lamb’s eternal bride;

No suffering or grief is there

And every tear is dried.

There Christ prepares for us a place,

From sin and death restored,

And we shall stand before his face,

The ransomed of the Lord.

Canticle (Revelation 19:1-7)

As a bridegroom rejoices in his bride/ so shall your God rejoice in you. (Is 62:5b)

The wedding prefigured in the humble home at Cana will be celebrated in glory at the coming of Christ, in whom humanity and divinity are wedded in everlasting love.

Alleluia.

Salvation, glory, and power to our God:

his judgments are honest and true.

Alleluia.

Alleluia.

Sing praise to our God, all you his servants,

all who worship him reverently, great and small. Alleluia.

Alleluia.

The Lord our all-powerful God is King;

let us rejoice, sing praise, and give him glory.

Alleluia.

Alleluia.

The wedding feast of the Lamb has begun,

and his bride is prepared to welcome him.

Alleluia.

Word of God. Revelation 21:2; 19:8

I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

She was allowed to wear/ a bright, clean linen garment./ (The linen represents the righteous deeds of the holy ones.)

There was a cry, “Behold, the bridegroom!
Come out to meet him!” (Mt 25:6)

Canticle of Mary

You shall be called “My Delight,”/ and your land “Espoused.”/ For the Lord delights in you,/ and makes your land his spouse. (Is 62:4)

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior

for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:

the Almighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him

in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,

he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,

and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel

for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

the promise he made to our fathers,

to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father…

Intercessions

God rejoices in our salvation. Let us pray with confidence and love:

R/Have mercy on your people, Lord!

You have joined us to yourself in love:

– make us one in our love for one another: R/

You have given us a foretaste of the wedding feast of the Lamb:

– deepen our love and reverence for the Eucharist: R/

You have promised us a dwelling place where sin and sorrow are no more:

– grant the joy of eternal life to all our beloved dead: R/

(Personal intentions)

Our Father….

May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that we may abound in hope by the power of the holy Spirit. Amen. (cf. Rom 15:13)

Marian Antiphon

Blessed Mother of God, Mary, perpetual Virgin,

temple of the Lord, shrine of the Holy Spirit,

you alone without compare were pleasing

to the Lord Jesus Christ;

pray for the people, intervene for the clergy;

intercede for devout women.

Alma Redemptoris Mater

Alma Redemptoris Mater, quae pervia caeli

porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti,

surgere qui curat, populo: tu quae genuisti,

natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem,

Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore

sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere.

Loving mother of the Redeemer,

gate of heaven, star of the sea,

assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again.

To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator,

yet remained a virgin after as before.

You who received Gabriel’s joyful greeting,

have pity on us, poor sinners.

V/ Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,

R/ That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Salve Regina

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;

vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.

Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Evae.

Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes

in hac lacrimarum valle.

Eia ergo, advocata nostra,

illos tuos misericordes oculos

ad nos converte.

Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,

nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.

O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy,

our life, our sweetness, and our hope.

To you do we cry,

poor banished children of Eve.

To you do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, O most gracious advocate,

your eyes of mercy toward us,

and after this our exile

show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V/ Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,

R/ That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
