Are Ouija boards harmless? Quick answer, No.
The Ouija board is a form of divination that involves seeking information from spirits. These boards aren’t the harmless games they are usually marketed to be. They sadly work in reaching spirits, the scary part is the only spirits that can be contacted through it are evil ones.
Some people usually claim the board doesn’t work or they don’t believe they do. But the problem is, not believing in something doesn’t mean they don’t exist or aren’t real. These things have scary repercussions and do not depend on the user’s belief.
God condemns any form of occultic practices which includes divination. There are tons of biblical passages treating such matters like the following:
Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord”.
Dt 18:10–12
He practiced soothsaying and divination, and reintroduced the consulting of ghosts and spirits. He did much evil in the LORD’S sight and provoked him to anger.
2 Kings 21:6
And when they say to you, “Inquire of mediums and fortune-tellers (who chirp and mutter!); should not a people inquire of their gods, apply to the dead on behalf of the living?”
Is 8:19
The Catholic Catechism:
2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future.48 Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.
2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others – even if this were for the sake of restoring their health – are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.
From professionals:
There have been several testimonies from the Church’s exorcists. They show that these things are far from harmless or games. Some have put the number of the worst cases involving some demonic activities to be around 90%. This is a very high number. Usually caused by the fact that these boards are so popular and marketed as a game, sometimes for kids.
Nothing good can come out of using these things. So what is the point of putting ourselves and our loved ones in danger?
Are Ouija boards harmless? Kindly leave a comment
Grandma said she would shun her six grandchildren if we got one. That scared the hell out of us. Pun intended. Furthermore she made me promise no to see the exorcist and out my love and respect for her never had.
Do not mess with the ouija board!!! When I was younger my friends and I played with a ouija board to scare our neighbor, it did that. Then when I got home I for some reason ran right through the sliding glass window and was lucky I lived. My mother was screaming at me ” what where you kids playing with!” I told her and she said that something very evil came in the house with me and lead me right through that window. So do not play around with these games. They’re not games at all.
I watch “A Haunting” which exposes experiences that people have had with Ouija Boards. One episode told of how a woman, who experimented with one as a child ONE TIME and didn’t “appear” to have results from it, was later bothered by demonic spirits during her adult years. The paranormal investigators attributed her problem to that one childhood experience. This article is 100% correct. DO NOT experiment with Oiuja boards, or any other type of occult practices. The Bible instructs us to stay clear of them; what else do you need to convince you?!?
Back in 1995 my daughter & some friends played the Ouija and it scared us so bad that we threw it in the garbage…scarier than that, the next day it was back in the top of my closet!!! Figure that one out!!
Very bad experiences with this as an entire family. Some of them thought it was harmless, but for two others of us, it took years to get away from the evil. It seemed, after, prayer and discernment, that our family had spiritual ties through the generations to this kind of stuff and it really latched on to us. We needed prayer with a few priests over several years to cut those ties and lose the occurrences of non-Godly spirits. Definitely avoid this and other occult things! Please!
Why even risk it??? Satan is so subtle.
The spirits lie and they can attach themselves to you very EVIL beware
Those are very bad luck, it predicted the death of my grand mother 3 days before it happened. After we got rid of it, strange things started happening in the house, such as cold breezes, doors slamming,, footsteps, etc. Had to have the house blessed
really bad thing. Friends of mine used to play with it t lunch time. A few of us advised them to leave it alone. To prove the point the asked if the “spirit” was of God – The think started spinning so fast – the board broke
My experience with it when I was 12 or 13 scared the stuff out of me. To me it is evil. I would never tell anyone it was anything less.
And how do you know that even if it “didn’t work”, that you didn’t just open yourself up to evil spirits that could affect you in other ways. When you use something like this you are saying “I am open”.
NO. Do NOT get involved with the board. even those who practice divination will tell you to be VERY careful with it. “Spirits” it attracts aren’t necessarily benevolent one. It may seem like fun and all is well in the beginning but beware because it can take a bad turn.
This is not ok!! This is real and scary. When my sister and were young and stupid teenagers back in the 70’s we played with it thinking it would be fun. We had a sleep over with some girlfriends at our home and decided to play with it. What a mistake it was because it this truly scared us to death! To this day I will never forget how much it did. I swore to our Lord in Heaven that I would never touch this game ever again!! Please, please do not ever allow your children or family members around this because it is not a game to be played with, it is the Devil in disguise!
it it’s not ok even if nothing happens right away. spirits can disguise themselves
What was your experience? i have done the O.B. and it always intrigued me. Noteveryone has bad experiences as long as the O.B. is not used on a daily basis i feel they it is ok
I know from my own personal experience that Ouija boards open a door that you cannot close by yourself. This is extremely dangerous and I advise all parents to be on guard against anyone bringing one of these into your home. Strongly caution your children against this. If I know of anyone using these or even talking about using these I tell them strongly to reject it and if need be I tell them about my own experience. Take heed.
Do tell
