Hail, O Queen of heav’n enthroned!

Hail, by angels mistress owned!

Root of Jesse, Gate of Morn,

Whence the world’s true Light was born.

Glorious Virgin, joy to thee,

Loveliest whom in heav’n they see:

Fairest thou, where all are fair,

Plead with Christ our sins to spare.

PSALM 93

Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before me; your throne shall stand firm forever. (2 Sm 7:16)

The Blessed Virgin Mary has been crowned Queen in virtue of the Lord Jesus Christ, her Son, who is the King of the universe. In heaven as on earth, she points the way not to her own glory but to his, with which she has been robed and which she seeks only to reflect.

The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed;

the Lord has robed himself with might,

he has girded himself with power.

The world you made firm, not to be moved;

your throne has stood firm from of old.

From all eternity, O Lord, you are.

The waters have lifted up, O Lord,

the waters have lifted up their voice,

the waters have lifted up their thunder.

Greater than the roar of mighty waters,

more glorious than the surgings of the sea,

the Lord is glorious on high.

Truly your decrees are to be trusted.

Holiness is fitting to your house,

O Lord, until the end of time.

Glory to the Father….

Word of God (Luke 1:31-33)

Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.

Just as we have borne the image of the earthly man,

we shall also bear the image of the heavenly man.

(cf. 1 Cor 15:49)

CANTICLE OF ZECHARIAH

Rejoice, O Mary, key to the Kingdom of Christ. (Akathist to Our Most Holy Lady, Mother of God)

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;

he has come to his people and set them free.

He has raised up for us a mighty savior,

born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old

that he would save us from our enemies,

from the hands of all who hate us.

He promised to show mercy to our fathers

and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:

to set us free from the hands of our enemies,

free to worship him without fear,

holy and righteous in his sight

all the days of our life.

You, my child, shall be called the prophet

of the Most High;

for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,

to give his people knowledge of salvation

by the forgiveness of their sins.

In the tender compassion of our God

the dawn from on high shall break upon us,

to shine on those who dwell in darkness

and the shadow of death,

and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Glory to the Father…

INTERCESSIONS

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Queen, who leads us in love to her Son, let us pray:

R/Be it done according to your will.

For the Church:

– that we may serve God’s glory by imitating the humble obedience of Mary, the Queen. R/

For all who exercise leadership:

– that they may seek the good of all, after the example of Mary, the Queen. R/

For all who have died:

– that they may enter into your glory through the intercession of Mary, the Queen. R/

(Personal intentions)

Our Father….

O God, by the fruitful virginity of Blessed Mary, you have given to the human race the reward of eternal life. Grant, we beseech you, that through the intercession of the mother of the Author of Life, the Church may become the mother of many children who will take their place before your throne to sing your praises for all eternity, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
